Stargate DAW

Stargate DAW, an all-in-one DAW and plugin suite for Windows, MacOS and Linux, has been updated to 23.01.1.

The latest release features:

  • Over 100 bug fixes in total, improving nearly every part of the application.
  • Sequencer timeline: New context menu action: Set as first beat of song. Move the position of all items in the song to a new first beat, to add or remove space at the beginning of the song.
  • Sequencer: horizontal zoom with CTRL+MouseWheel, vertical zoom with ALT+MouseWheel.
  • Sequencer: Many workflow improvements, new mouse gestures, see the hint box for details.
  • Sequencer: Items list sidebar, drag and drop items into the sequencer by name or drag onto existing items to replace.
  • Sequencer: "painting" is now the standard drawing behavior, drag to the right to repeat drawing a new item, or use CTRL+click+drag to repeat drawing if there is a single item copied to the clipboard. Click and release to draw a single item as the previous behavior.
  • Sequencer: Fix automation being shared between songs, all songs in the song list now have fully independent sequencer automation.
  • Sequencer and item editors: Greatly improved use of different mouse cursor icons.
  • MacOS: Use DMG packaging again instead of PKG, eliminate the need for admin privileges to install (installing the DMG over the PKG will require admin privileges the only the first time, to uninstall the PKG).
  • MacOS: Fix hints that mention keyboard modifiers to use correct MacOS key names (CMD, OPT) instead of (CTRL, ALT).
  • Piano Roll: DrawTool+ALT+drag to change position instead of length while drawing.
  • Piano Roll, Audio Item Editor: Implement the erase mouse tool.
  • Sequencer, Audio Item Editor: Draw a silhouette of an item being drag+dropped into the editor.
  • Windows, MacOS: Improved latency and CPU performance at high load.
  • Many minor cosmetic fixes and color theme improvements.
