Stumm has released PG-23P v1.2 - an emulation of the Roland JX-3P from the PG-200 programmer's interface. It was developed using a physical JX-3P and available specifications in order to match all routing, depth, tuning, and value ranges as closely as possible. It has all the characteristics and features of the JX-3P's synthesis including:
  • Multi-Routed ENV and LFO Destinations, with Depth and Post ON/OFF switches for quick switching of Patch variations.
  • The JX-3P PWM 'trick'. Set Cross Mod to Sync, Mix to DCO-2 and control the tuning of DCO-2 (manually or with the LFO) to achieve Pulse Width Modulation.
  • Separate POS. and NEG. ADSR positions for the Pitch and Filter.
  • 3 Cross Modulation modes: NONE, SYNC, and METAL (a type of Ringmod w/ DCO-1 as the carrier).
  • Built in Chorus.
  • Turn Velocity Sensitivity to 0 to accurately recreate the JX-3P's keyboard, or turn it to 10 to recreate the velocity sensitivity that was only to it available through MIDI-IN.
  • Global Highpass Filter and VCA Modes: ENV (which uses the ADSR) or GATE (on/off response, no velocity sensitivity).
  • 6 Voice, 12 Oscillators with Sine, Narrow-Pulse, Pulse-Saw, and Noise waveforms.
