Tonehammer has announced the release of Tablas Vol. 2: Multi-Samples for Kontakt.
The tabla is a popular Indian percussion instrument used in the classical, popular and devotional music of the Indian sub-continent and in Hindustani classical music. The instrument consists of a pair of hand drums of contrasting sizes and timbres. To call tabla a mere percussion instrument would be a vast understatement of its musical depth, as one of the most revered of all classical Indian musical instruments.
Tonehammer worked with tabla master and jazz percussionist Sameer Gupta to capture a range of tabla rhythm, melody and soul. Tonehammer's goal with this second volume of its tabla collection was to capture a range of over 40 unique tabla and bayan (the bass drum) articulations and over 2300 samples, designed to provide the most realistic, high-fidelity, playable and dynamic tabla multi-sample instrument ever attempted.
This library was recorded close and dry, in a high-ceiling wood and masonry studio to provide the ideal balance of intimacy and sympathetic resonance. Tonehammer covered every classical tabla articulation and a variety of variants and creative alternatives for maximum flexibility. Tonehammer also developed custom performance and pitch stepping functionality with automation-ready UI controls, further expanding the musical potential of this library and allowing it to incorporate seamlessly in any key and style with its companion library, Tonehammer Tablas Vol. 1: Loops.
You'll also find a broad set of special effect and tuned melodic programs and mutations, as well as a set of brand new morphable ambient drone instruments, crafted and sculpted from the heavily manipulated raw source recordings. This collection also features EXS support for core functionality and a variety of other special features.
Tablas Vol. 2: Multi-Samples is available for download now with an MSRP of $79, or as a bundle with both Tablas Vol. 1 Loops for a special combined MSRP of $139.
Native Instruments Kontakt 2/3/4 full retail version is required for all Kontakt instruments. The Free Kontakt Player is not supported.
