VCV have released Rack 2, the next iteration of their free virtual Eurorack studio. Rack 2 Pro, a paid version, is also available now featuring VST2 plugin compatibility with more plugin formats to be added in the near future.
New features in Rack 2 include:
- Dark room mode.
- Module selections for moving, saving and editing multiple modules simultaneously.
- An enhanced module browser with options to favorite, group and organize modules.
- Rack plugin version enabling offline rendering, automation, multiple instances and more (Rack 2 Pro Only).
Rack 2 includes 30+ built in modules. Over 170 official modules from Eurorack developers and a further 2000+ additional modules are available in the online VCV Module Library.
Rack 2 is available for free at vcvrack.com while Rack Pro is available for $99 ($149) on intro offer until 2022. The Rack 2 Pro, VCV Drums and VCV Sound Stage bundle is also on offer for $139 ($209) until 2022.
