Vienna Symphonic Library releases Historic Winds I & II and announces Vienna Vouchers Holiday Special
The Vienna Symphonic Library team has announced the release of two new Vienna Instruments Collections that focus on unique instruments from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, such as oboe da caccia, ophicleide, zink, serpent, natural trumpets and crumhorns. Historic Winds I & II are available at special introductory prices through December 31, 2016. Coinciding with this release the Viennese company has announced a limited time offer: Customers who purchase three Vienna Vouchers between December 1 and December 31, 2016 will receive one additional Voucher for free. Vienna Vouchers are available at $100 and $500 face values.
Historic Winds I & II:
- Historic Winds I includes five instruments: Transverse flute, Baroque oboe, oboe da caccia, ophicleide and serpent. The last had been rediscovered in the 20th century by film music composers such as Bernard Hermann and Jerry Goldsmith who used a serpent in Ridley Scott's legendary sci-fi horror movie "Alien" (1979).
- Historic Winds II contains zink, five crumhorns (covering the soprano, alto, tenor, bass and double bass register), as well as three natural trumpets (in Bb, C and D).
Both Collections are perfectly suited to score historic film subjects but they are also a source of inspiration when looking for all-new timbres for solo performances or instrumental combinations.
Price: The introductory price of Historic Winds I & II is currently $395 each and will increase to $565 each (regular list price) as of January 1, 2017.
