Vienna Symphonic Library has expanded their Synchron Series with Synchron Power Drums. The product includes three drums sets and comes with a dedicated version of the company's free Vienna Synchron Player that comprises an exclusive selection of ready-to-use cinematic MIDI drum loops.
The three drum sets represent the diverse sonic properties of different recording eras in order to provide a wide variety of energetic sounds. The versatile 1972 Tama Superstar on the right was made famous by artists such as Billy Cobham and Elvin Jones. The 1975 Sonor Acryl Champion Vintage Kit on the left was played by legends such as Ringo Starr, Karen Carpenter and Nick Mason. Positioned in the center is the 2017 version of the Tama Star, the manufacturer's current flagship line. Given this diverse setup, users have a wide variety of options, with the ability to play all three drum sets together or individually, both in their recorded positions or in a centered position.
All three drum kits were recorded for stereo and surround applications in Synchron Stage, Vienna's 5,813 sq.ft. main hall, which ranks among the best scoring stages in the world due to its exceptional and unique acoustics. Since its grand reopening in 2016, various international film and TV scores, such as Inferno, The Meg, The Girl in the Spider's Web, The Crown, Blue Planet II, Genius, and many more have been recorded there. With this glorious ambience expertly recorded with the samples, users may choose from a menu of tailor-made mixer presets – from clean to highly processed hits – to get their ultimate drum sound right out of the box. What's more, with 19 microphones for each drum set and direct access to each instrument they may shape their individual drum and cymbal sounds using the full-blown mixer that's integrated in the Synchron Player's easy-to-use interface.
The concept behind Synchron Power Drums is hard-hitting, energetic drum grooves played simultaneously on three independent yet interacting drum kits. An exclusive selection of cinematic drum loops is included, with complementary patterns in one MIDI file, ready to be played together or individually. To introduce slight inaccuracies and livliness, the "Humanize Delay" parameter can be adjusted using MIDI automation.
