Overview

Crave Transient EQ is a unique combination of three EQs in one plugin: a parallel EQ, a dynamic EQ and a dual transient and stationary EQ. In other words, it allows you to dynamically equalize the transient and stationary components of your audio in parallel.

Dynamic EQ

Dynamic processing can be enabled for peaking, high shelf and low shelf filters. To enable dynamic processing on the selected band, click the Q or L button underneath the threshold knob. When enabled, the transient level is shown in yellow and the stationary level is shown in blue around the knob.

The L button modifies the loud part of the signal. When the filter gain is positive, the loud part of the signal will be boosted (this is upward expansion). When the filter gain is negative (cut), the loud part of the signal will be reduced (this is downward compression). In Loud mode, dynamics processing engages when the signal is above the threshold.

The Q button modifies the quiet part of the signal. When the filter gain is positive, the quiet part of the signal will be boosted (this is upward compression). When the filter gain is negative (cut), the quiet part of the signal will be reduced (this is downward expansion). In Quiet mode, dynamics processing engages when the signal is below the threshold.

Transient/Stationary EQ

Crave Transient EQ separates audio into transient and stationary components. The transient component contains rapidly changing in-harmonic audio, while the stationary component contains slowly varying harmonic audio. This process captures detail beyond just the onset of percussion and may initially surprise those accustomed to the sound of transient shapers. Once you get used to it you can do a lot of interesting things from adding punch, softening vocals, to cleaning up noise. Combined with dynamic EQ and M/S + L/R positioning controls, Crave Transient EQ is a powerful and versatile tool to shape your sound.

High-Resolution Spectrogram

The spectrogram uses a proprietary algorithm which can resolve fast moving detail in the highs while maintaining good low frequency resolution at high settings. Transient material is overlaid in yellow to differentiate it from stationary content. To enjoy the spectrogram in full detail, open the Analyzer menu and choose the largest Size.
