Wilson's responsiveness is key to this Entonal Studio's ongoing development. And the plugin can prove remarkably useful, as the MTS-ESP ecosystem continues to expand.
At its core, Entonal Studio is about tuning tracks with one another. Yes, it allows a lot of flexibility in creating new tunings and scales. Yet what makes it so important is the application of the same tuning to different tracks. In that sense, MTS-ESP is a bit like the Ableton Link standard, applied to tuning. Here, Entonal Studio serves as the common thread. As does Oddsound's own "MTS-ESP Mini". The key difference, here, is that we can create, tweak, adapt, analyze, manage, organize, and visualize different tunings and scales, all in realtime. Which makes for a deep, ear-opening experience in performance or composition.
Entonal Studio can also work with plugins which don't support MTS-ESP directly: hosting those plugins, sending pitchbend information to monophonic synths, or leveraging MPE's per-voice pitchbend. In those cases, the plugin sometimes proves less effective, probably due to the complexity involved in interacting between different plugins. In my experience, it's probably best not to rely too heavily on this use outside of MTS-ESP. However, it remains a useful set of features.
