A Library of Feedback created by MODWHEEL in collaboration with guitar and feedback maestro David Long.

There are 27 patches in total. Each one is carefully curated to give the player control over how to shape their own performance.

The Instrument was recorded in the beautiful Stella Maris Chapel with 3 different microphone positions (Near, Mid and Far) which the user can control on the main gui. When not in use, mic positions can be switched off by clicking the on/off button to conserve cpu.

Each mic position can be independently transposed + or - 1 octave, panned and has its own envelope.

Most of the patches feature a Blend controller which controls the relative levels of either Sliced/Stretched or Original/Tuned. The Sliced/Stretched option uses Kontakt's Time Machine and Beat Machine functions. This means that the patches will sync to the tempo running in the DAW but the samples are handled in different ways.

In the patches where the Blend control mixes between Original and Tuned, the Original samples remain exactly as they were recorded while the Tuned samples have been tuned so they will play with other instruments. Centre the Blend control for a subtle natural chorus effect.

In patches where the Blend control mixes between Sliced and Stretched, the Beat Machine samples are sliced and (depending on the tempo) will play with a stuttering rhythm whereas the Time Machine samples are stretched. The effect of each will vary depending on the samples and the tempo but some interesting results can be achieved using a combination of the two.

One thing to note about the Sliced samples is that the slices of each of the different mics are different lengths. So for example the Near mic might be sliced into quarter notes, the Mid mic to eighth notes and the Far mic to sixteenth notes. This means that mixing between the three gives some striking effects especially when combined with the Rhythm step-mod and Scatter Box.

The FX tab gives access to the filters, a rhythm Step-mod and Scatter Box.

The Filters are a High Pass, a single band Mid freq and a Low Pass.

The Rhythm Step-mod works on volume and can be used to create effects from a simple tremolo through to more complex rhythms.

Scatter Box is MODWHEEL's convolution IR effect.
