Overview

GenericDrum is a generic drum synthesizer using delays. This one can make convincing snare and bass drum sounds. Cymbal sounds can be made, but it's not as good as more lower drum sounds.

"Mechanism Overview" section in the manual provides more information about how this synth works.

Notes

  • macOS build is experimental.
  • On Linux, the plugin is better to be built from the source code. Build instruction is available. Also, DAW might have to be built from source code to avoid the conflict on dynamic link dependencies.

Hi! I would like to try this plugin. However, my computer is telling me it cannot scan the file so it refuses to open it. I already copied the file to the VST3 folder, but it's nog showing up in the Ableton plug-ins folder.

I'm using Ableton 11.3.13 on an apple silicon device.

I hope you can help me.

Kind regards, Jomme.

Hi, Jomme. Sorry for my late reply. I forgot to set notifications on this page.

macOS quarantines random software downloaded from the internet, and you have to remove that "quarantined" flag. For more details, my previous comment in the link below has some information related to the issue.

I also got a report that the plugin works after using PlugDeQuar which is linked below.

He was using Apple Silicon Mac with Live, however I'm not sure about the version. Also PlugDeQuar itself might not run without being removed from quarantine. The description of PlugDeQuar has some guides to remove quarantine, but I'd recommend to check out the video below. It's shorter.

I personally don't own Mac, so providing these information is the best I can do for now. Sorry for inconvenience.
