Handy Drums- Mallets

MALLETS from the Handy Drums plugin range is a pre-mixed, sampled acoustic drumset played with mallets. The plugin offers finished, natural drum sound quality right out of the box and is aimed at users looking for instant drum results. Tweaks to the individual drum components can be achieved using the included mixer. Each drum component sounds as a part of the drumset as a single instrument played in an acoustic space.

As is the case with all of the plugins in the Handy Drums collection, the MALLETS comes with a clean, simple GUI offering essential functionalities such as drum mapping, routing, and other settings in a discreet, intuitive manner. That makes this virtual drumset very easy to use.

At the center of this plugin is a 5-piece, custom-made, beech drumset, with an 18" kick drum. While relatively dry-sounding in nature, this kit contains natural room ambiance and sounds on the playback the same way it did in the recording studio. The whole kit is warm, lively, and dynamic with medium sustain. Because it was played by mallets, it has a softer attack and is suitable for unconventional uses where a gentle approach from the drums is needed.

In addition to the 5-piece drumset with cymbals (hats, ride, crashes, splashes), the plugin comes with a few sampled percussion instruments, a standard for Handy Drums plugins: shaker, cowbell, triangle, tambourine, handclaps.

The variable hi-hat comes standard with this plugin, but it achieves 6 stages of hi-hat openness utilizing only 1 note in combination with a CC4 controller. Because the hats were played by mallets, only the tip of the hi-hat was sampled.
