We've developed the ultimate binaural processor that surpasses all previous lineups. HPL Processor Ultimate was born from meticulous adjustments and developments for each speaker layout, aiming to achieve clear positioning and eliminate sound quality degradation and phase issues. While the previous HPL2 Processor only supported 2ch input, HPL Processor Ultimate recreates 42 speaker layouts such as 5.1ch and 7.1.4ch on headphones.

3DX or HPL Processor?

3DX is an all-in-one plugin that broadly covers the features necessary for 3D immersive sound production. On the other hand, HPL Processor is a specialized plugin for converting surround sound sources into binaural. While HPL Processor has fewer features, it boasts strengths such as high accuracy in positioning and spatial reproduction. If your project involves converting surround speaker outputs to binaural, we recommend the HPL Processor. If you require more extensive features such as panning, ambisonics, downmixing, or upmixing, it would be a good idea to start with 3DX.

3DX and HPL Processor

By using both plugins within a single project, you can create a higher quality binaural mix. For instance, you can use 3DX as the panner for each track, and then insert the HPL Processor on the master track for binauralization. This allows for more flexible and high-quality utilization.

Differences Between the Old HPL2 Processor and the New HPL Processor

• Not only stereo, but binaural conversion is now possible for surround formats such as 5.1ch, as well as 3D audio formats like 7.1.4 (Exclusive to the Ultimate Edition).
• A binaural conversion function for subwoofers has been added (Common to both Lite and Ultimate editions).
• With the newly integrated UI for the monitor controller, you can now assign 'solo' status to individual speakers.
• The vector scope UI that was present in the old HPL2 Processor is not included in the new HPL Processor.
