I don't understand the positive reviews. The plugin is buggy (version 15), some sounds are showing as 'content missing', I have regular crashes of my hosts while working with it.

Regarding the sound I would say - good average but nothing extraordinary. The presets are very digital, very cold.

The GUI requests quite a long learning curve, if you expect fast results you are wrong with the plugin. The soundbrowser is complex, first you have to look after the category (e.g. Bass), then you choose the plugin and after that you have a several browser for the sounds. Not the easiest way.

Looking at the positive - it is modular and you have a lot of options and opportunities - after the described learning curve.

This is amazing. Probably the best synth I've ever used. For the first few days, I thought it was great but maybe slow to use, learning concepts/menus. After a couple of weeks (not that many hours, I don't have that much time!) I now find the workflow fast and making great sounds is fun and intuitive.

It is feature rich, hugely powerful and has a superb 'pure' sound. 'Analog' randomness/feel is easy to add with loads of options.

Very CPU efficient and stable.

I'm not quite as impressed with the presets as I don't think they demonstrate the power of this synth and they could be better organised. Due to this I probably wouldn't recommend the 'LE' version (which doesn't allow editing). As Melda updates are frequent, I'm sure this will be improved.

Stick with the interface, configure it to your liking and after a while you'll see why this is such a great VST. Definitely one of the very best available (maybe the best).

I love this synth / sampler / sonic playground. SoundFactory is probably the most fun and inspiring synth I have used. Sound quality and what sounds 'good' can be just personal taste but of the many synths I have owned over the years it is easily on a par with the best of them.

When people say certain hardware has a bit of extra magic or mojo I just think this has that too.

The beauty for me is you can go deep exploring but also you can just throw together strange combinations of sound generators and fx and modulate them and get interesting results.

The layout can seem daunting at first with pop out menus and so many options but it is actually pretty easy to learn and also there is a lot of help boxes so you can get info on what the controls do and learn things as you go along. It is brilliantly well thought out overall.

I hope Soundfactory does really well - it is its own thing, and some people may be put off by the extra menus or layout etc but I just love the workflow now.. basically it is always inspiring, fun to use and just sounds very good - also you have a huge amount of top quality but pretty crazy FX to modulate and play with.

There is also all the drum side of Soundfactory which looks really impressive too but I haven't even got to that yet so lots to explore still.

It has been a great buy for me so far and I can 100% recommend it.

MSF is not a normal VST. It is a Workstation and a Platform. It is senseless to describe its Possibilities here. Forget what you know about OSC, Wavetables, FM and what ever. MSF exceeds what has been before. It is a big Step forwards in the History of Synthesizers. You should better rethink your Sound Design and Business Concepts as soon as possible.

Annotation: The delivered Presets i. m. O. don't even scratch the Surface of MSF's Possibilities and MSF can not be recommended for People who are looking for another Toybox.

Wow, im using MSoundfactory for a while now and it remains my great love! It is incredible how fast this workstation is developing.

It's not just that they try to combine all the previous synthesis types in order to combine them modularly, Melda always goes a step further and you can be creative like in no other workstation. You can increase the sound quality extremely. The whole chain can be upsampled by 16x! You have an analog function, too. So the analog behaviour, for instance pitch, phase and modulation drifting, envelope timings and so on are emulated and you decide the amount and the speed. Also the filters have an analog emulation function.

Synths (02-2020): Additive, FM, Modal Filter, Oscillator with so much transformation possibilitys (the so rarely encountered phase modulation!), Noise, Crackle, Resonator, Sampler with SFZ import, String generator, unison machine (where you can mod everey parameter for the different unison voices) and of course Wavetable with interpolation.
Drum Sampler, Drum Synthesizer, Scratcher.

Building Blocks:
Delay Mod, Envelope, Follower (also pitch), Channel seperators, LFO, Math, Merger, Mixer, Modular rack(to go grazy, modular in modular in modular...), Order Group, Ratio Mixer...

Per-voice modulation is easy possible with so many per-voice FX modules.

You have acess to all Melda FX (and all upcomming) in a comlete own modular view like MXXX! It's incredible, you know the melda FX arsenal?

You can have 8 channel out, you can splitting by frequency, band, by noise/tonal, Mid/Side, Pan.... with lot of options.
You can create you own instruments with own skins (like Reaktor but easyer), there are already many available with some presets.

There are very nice sample tools like pitch shifting clones (with keep formant option), auto sort functions (tune, velocity), tuning detection, automated sample cutter, automatic sample start detection and so on.

It's incredible, I could probably write a book if I listed everything here. But there are already some videos here, for me 6 stars, because what is offered for this price is just outrageous! Haha! Melda is crazy. Thanks for this.

Well, clearly some are going to just gag at the endless depths of this no doubt most complex EVER Melda creation (see thread here, where the fans and the gaggers fight it out: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=7400187#p7400187), but if you're delighted by complexities, the madder the better, THIS is your newest thrill! It's certainly mine.

There's already plenty of info and help, much response from the dev in his own forums (https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=138), new presets and devices being posted and Exchanged... as well as it being also still a beta, which is explorable for free with all functions on. Pretty much EVERY other Melda product is included inside it, including MPowerSynth and MXXX, all the sounds from MDrummer, a healthy selection of new oscillators, heavy on the PModeling, plus WT and FM, and they can all be patched together in infinite ways... So, while it's still at 66% off..."Bargain of the Year", or even "Decade" barely covers it, imo.
