Omnia Collection Sukōn

The guys at Earcandy are proud to present their newest product; Sukōn.

Sukōn is the first sample bank in the Omnia Collection and is available for NI Kontakt 5.

Sukōn is based on an old, cheap and lo-fi Japanese sampler from the mid-eighties but this is also where the comparison ends.

Due to some clever programming and an intuitive interface Sukōn will sound like nothing you have heard before.

By utilizing some of the more exotic and rarely used parameters in Kontakt Earcandy was able to create an instrument where the loops and stereo image you can create are in a class of its own.

All samples were originally looped by the old sampler and was later ported to the modern Kontakt 5 sampler retaining these loop points. Also, the original key range of 32 keys was retained.
Alternative programs with full key range are also provided.

Earcandy's plan was originally to only sample one sample per program, but as they tried this out and compared it to the original sampler there was no doubt; they had to do the extra work of sampling all 32 keys on the samplers keyboard. A lot of extra work but they say it was definitely worth the extra effort.

We are not quite sure where to place Sukōn among other libraries. We guess it could be put into the loop or granular category though it does not – according to Earcandy – belong there.

All samples were recorded in 24-bit/96 kHz on industry leading equipment. The original sampler sampled in 8-bit/9.38 kHz.
