Xhip Synthesizer

EDIT:

Decided to pick up Xhip again. Very lovely as it was back in my first review. The pops/clicks have been solves as far as I can tell. Being that this synth is semi-analog modeled I now understand why stereo spread is not included (though it would still be awesome).

Why not 10/10? The unison. As much as I love the fact this synth has unison, free running oscillators would make this much better. Granted it has the randomize parameter but I still hear a phasing "click"/"transient" at the beginning of each note.

Other than that this synth is a definite gold mine! Very clean. Very easy to use. Sounds very good. Extremely hard not to like.

Dakkra.

ORIGINAL:

This is an amazing free synth. Dual oscillator with 4 waveforms. There are many filter options and all sound great! It has an analog look, feel, and sound which make for some fun editing. There are quite a few modulation options which allow for a lot of control. There is unison but there is a small set back with no unison spread (to my knowledge). This synth comes packed with MIDI Learn capability and an option to change the color theme of the synth. The glide option is a nice touch which makes for amazing baselines. This synth reminds me very much of Synth 1.

Overall this synth is a steal for being a freebie. Despite the lack of a unison spread and some small audio pops while editing this is one synth I can only recommend for those who feel the need for an anaolog touch.

This has to be the best free synth I have ever used. It has a decent sound quality much alike the "draft" mode on Synthmaster. The sounds come out rich and powerful. The modulation panel can link the LFOs to most parameters in the synth its self. It has a ready to use gate machine built in as well it has sidechain, delay (echo), reverb, and a bitcrusher. All of which sound very nice. The subtractive oscillators work really well. They are easy to use and push out just what you would want. I don't know much about FM (Frequency Modulation) synthisis but it's another feature that this synth features. The portamento allows an easy slide between notes.

Pros: Easy to use interface. Simple to understand. Pointing modulation parameters. It's free

Cons: Could use more waveforms. Audio quality could be enhanced. That's all my complaints

My favorite DAW! It has great audio quality when you put your hand into it. The MUX wich has been integrated in Mulab gives you an amazing amount if flexibility. It works on the spirit of building our sound. You can create anything thing from an analog lead to a digital bass. Mulab handles vsts' very well. Haven't had any issues other than dealing with vsts that never worked. You can also use the vsts in the MUX giving it a whole new sound source. MIDI is also easily managed.

Pros: Easy to navigate interface, easy to make sounds, and superb audio quality, user support is amazing.

Cons: The MUX needs some more modules (easily worked around with vst).

Best Synth I have used! Has a warm analog sound along with an amazing selection of oscillator sounds. It's Semi-Modular System is easy to understand and it's GUI is easy to learn. Editing of Envelopes and related items are just clicks, drags, and turns away. It's packaged effects sound amazing for being a synth. It has many different types of oscillators but my favorite is the basic because it can read the single cycle waveforms I make in Mulab which allows me to make pretty much any sound I want. It's sound quality is far beyond my expectations and uses relatively little CPU. I can load Synthmaster and in ten minutes I already have a great sounding melody to start off with. The factory presets sound great and are in a number beyond most other synths. The online library is easy to connect to and you can share your sound easily with it. I'm having trouble finding anything I don't like about this amazing soft-synth.
