Despite the visual only gives a few keys this virtual instrument supports a wider range of notes. The name suggests it is a bass organ but surprisingly there's a preset to let you use this as a piano, and with just a little bit of reverb that just sounds authentic, not as good as expensive physical modeling ones but it is a surprise for a give away plug-in created for very specific purpose.
Read ReviewThis plugin claims to be based on setBfree, which is only available as LADSPA Version 2 plugin so you probably need a FOSS DAW like Ardour to use that. This one is in VST or audio unit which are more poplar formats. Unfortunately the original setBfree has more parameters while this one only has these on the panel. Also the output level is notably lower which means if you really need to consider use it you need a gain. The audio is smooth and that's the good aspect. I'd rate it 3.5 out of 5 for the above reasons, additional 0.5 for a clean clutter free interface.
Read ReviewThe concept of scanned synth is less well known and there are no manual for it so it might be hard to get start with it. However there are not so many parameters so after a few tweaks with the presets you can get the idea rather intuitively.
The builtin HPF/LPF is limited that an external EQ is required to produce good sound, and I recommend also replace the builtin reverb by a better one. It can also benefit from a chorus effect plugin. The sound it can produce is noisy but warm, and can make very intrigued sound. A very creative free plugin indeed.
