Loved these so much, I bought a second set along with the carrying bag. So now I have my main studio, these hooked up to a kitchen iMac (now called Studio B, lol) and the second set on my desk at work (Studio C). Super easy to transport and set up in a hotel if you want to stay out of trouble while traveling. You're not going to get a lot of low end out of these, but that's not the purpose. They are VERY flat. I've mixed a lot of songs on these, listened back on my main studio monitors, and barely had to make corrections. And that's the point: They are really nice to mix with.
Read ReviewBought this a while back and have taken advance of the Group Buys along the way. I have a TON of IK's plugins now; some I've never touched. However, I would buy them all over again for one single plugin that's included: The One. It's a simple compressor & EQ with only a few knobs. I'm no genius and still don't fully understand compression, but somehow, some way, I nailed the settings for The One, saved it as a preset, and have used it on EVERY song I've made over the last 5 years. The same preset, regardless of whether it's rock, synthwave, jazz, reggae, pop, electronic or whatever. I start a new project, throw The One on the master bus, call up my preset, and go to work. That's my process and it works. Get it.

I have mixed opinions here with SampleTank 4, and especially with the Syntronik 2 instrument. The quality of the sounds and the beauty of each synthesizer panel are immense. The tonality of the analog presets is truly masterful. I have all the best VST synthesizers on the market, and the only one that comes close is Spectrasonics' Omnisphere. The analog leads of Syntronik, along with the layering capability of SampleTank, make these tools a pure diamond for the modern musician.
Regarding the installation process, organization, and intuitiveness with such a large amount of GB to install, SampleTank 2 is a real disaster, literally garbage. I have ultra-fast internet speed, but I've been installing from the Manager for hours, synthesizer by synthesizer, one by one, and the speed from IK's servers is truly awful and a lack of respect for the user who purchased their products. That said, if I were responsible for the website and sound download area, I would fire everyone tomorrow. Seriously, IK? A disaster; but the product and its quality are impressive, which compensates for the hours of waiting (?) Definitely not, if only Dev. would update what I just explained as a user, they would sell thousands more copies of this fantastic collection of vintage synthesizers. 5 stars for Syntronik's quality! 5 for the design of SampleTank 4, and 0 stars for the incapable and ineffective developers who worked on the data and sound downloading process. Unfortunately quantity over quality is the motto here. For example most bass amps sound to dark and mushy or they lack mids to the point where you have to heavily make use of an EQ to get some kind of usable sound out of it. In general there are much better and cheaper alternatives on the market. Moreover, the fact that you always have to install the complete package wastes disk space when it's completely not necessary. The CPU load is pretty intense, about the double of other plugins with the same or even better quality.
Apart from that, their licensing policy is pretty puzzling. And if problems occur the customer service, especially when dealing with problems of licenses, acts more than ignorant.
So, all in all please stay away from Amplitube and other IK Multimedia products.
