Numerical Sound releases ReStereo - Mono-to-stereo Rack Extension

Numerical Sound

Numerical Sound has released ReStereo, a mono-to-stereo Rack Extension for Reason 6.5.1+ or Reason Essential 1.5.1+.

ReStereo's convolution-based engine offers a new digital algorithm that is designed to dramatically differ from the conventional band splitting/delaying approach used to generate stereo from a mono audio source. Instead of conventional 4-5 bands that are delayed, the phase of each individual frequency in the impulses is adjusted with over 1000 frequency points that give this plugin audiophile fidelity.

There are 25 patches. Each has a stereo field that ranges in size from a solo instrument up to a very large ensemble. This process is intended to realistically add depth, clarity and a sense of width and emotional immediacy to a track.

Each stereo field's width and its pan position can be adjusted. These features enable the user to apply it to several mono tracks without it sounding like the same effect.

The ReStereo convolution approach preserves the transients and the overall frequency response by avoiding the use any 1-20 millisecond delays in parts of the spectrum found in traditional mono to stereo plugins.

Price: €55 / $69. Demo and download it at Propellerhead's shop.

Interesting variety of responses on Facebook about this one. Surprised things are so quiet on here. :)

Anyway, everyone already knows I love this plug-in. Wish it had come out years ago so I could have used it on some of my old tracks!
