PVC Beatbox Ensemble is one part of Soundiron's strange collection of quasi-musical oddities. This set was created by gathering the usual ensemble percussion crew together in a large bright and reflective recording hall, assembling strange maze-like tangles of pipe using a ton of plastic PVC tubing and fittings and then attempting to beatbox through it all. The best word to describe the result would be STEAM.
This is one of their classic experimental creations, originally released in Antidrum II. They always felt it was a little under-utilized and rather obscure, so they decided to give it a little time in the spotlight. They've souped it up, with more advanced programming and a brand new special effect patch. 10X round robin, 1-3 velocity layers and 9 "percussive" articulations, from kick, snare, rimshot, tom 1, tom 2, tom 3, hat/ride and crash:
