Venus Symphonic Women's Choir

The Venus Symphonic Women's Choir is a full 33-voice female chorus singing in Latin and Russian (Slavonic) and covering a full range of extended choral articulations and effects. It features pp/fff true legato vowels for ah, eh, oh and oo along with a special soft ppp "mmm" legato. There is a full range of 21 standard vowel sustains, 36 marcato words, 48 staccato syllables, 51 lyrical tempo-synching poly-sustains a large collection of choral effects (drones, whispers, shouts, sweeps, swells, clusters, etc.).

All sustaining vowels and marcato words include a unique multi-stage round-robin system with independent attacks, sustains and releases. The staccatos feature 4 round-robins per note, with a double-stacking feature, as well as whispered and atonal spoken/droning variants. All Marcato words and 8 special Vowel staccatos feature pp/fff modwheel-controlled dynamic layering.

You can also create your own custom words and staccato/marcato sequences using our Marcato Builder and Phrase-Builder utilities. There are also 2 Soprano and 3 Alto soloists, with poly-sustains, staccatos, whisper effects and a collection of melodic phrases.

The 5 true legato vowel sustains can be blended smoothly using 2- and 3-way automatable layering, with adjustable transition speed control. In addition, all other sustaining articulations also include 3-part polyphonic sim-legato, including the multi-syllabic Latin/Russian poly-sustains. Many presets also include independent dual-layering to allow smooth cross-fading between articulations, along with selection and tuning key-switches, fully automatable UI controls and more. Venus also features a large collection of Ambiences, Drones, Textures and FX content, along with a bonus set "Amazing Grace" building blocks in freely arrangeable multi-part harmonies for both solo and full choir.

This library was recorded in the same large hall as the Mars Symphonic Men's Choir and Apocalypse Percussion Ensemble. It includes 2 independent microphone positions (stage and hall), carefully mixed from an array of 12 discreet microphones. With this A/B positioning, surround mixing is fast, easy and resource efficient. Venus is also designed as the female counterpart to the Soundiron Mars Symphonic Men's Choir, with matching microphone positions, features and core articulations. The two can be purchased together as the Olympus Choral Collection for $569.
