Kia Ora!

emptyvessel - a Scotsman who finally found the place he belonged, on the South Island of Aotearoa/New Zealand, living in a small, old wooden house next to the harbour in Dunedin, Otago. Programming and using synths since the 80s, my first being a Yamaha DX21 & Siel Opera6, a nice combo of quirky Italian analogue poly and classic crunchy FM which really triggered a lifelong love of exploring deep, digital synthesis.

I consult to and create factory presets & sound content for a range of clients including:

Focusrite/Novation, Arturia, Unfiltered Audio, Kilohearts, Rhizomatic, Tritik, Xils, TAL, AEModular.

Obsessed with imperfection and tiny details that, likely, nobody hears (or possibly cares about) I use analog tape, vintage samplers and some carefully selected software tools to introduce dust, texture, life, breath and decay into the sounds. I create dusty, dark, intricate, melancholic, living sounds useful in a range of musical genres and soundtrack work.
