Free Lo-Fi TX81Z FM bass sample pack

Years ago, I did some programming of bass patches on my vintage Yamaha TX81Z, which is a bit noisy, hence “lo-fi”. I (multi)sampled these patches in Wavelab through my Echo Audiofire 8. Genre: Mainly House and Techno.

I always create my patches from scratch, but this time I also made some variations on the famous "Lately bass" preset. Funny detail: Lots of samples are derived from TX81Z patches that are useless on the hardware itself. Only one or a few notes sound right, but when sampled, the sound cán have a chromatic life in your sampler. This results in quite unique bass sounds.

There are 234 (multi) samples in total and they are key labeled. The sample pack comes in 4 formats: The 24/16 bit Wave format and the 24/16 bit AIFF format.

It's freeware and you are free to use these samples in your productions.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much for making your samples available to everyone.

A note: You just swapped the samples for WAV and AIFF. But it's
not bad.

I still remember the Yamaha TX81Z: Actually, at that time everyone
had the DX7 for hard and very funky sounds. The TX81Z was a
19-inch module, 8-way multitimbral, and had slightly softer sounds.
But its sounds were also - as I remember - a little more pleasant.
And yes: they were quite noisy at times, but it was hardly noticeable
in a song overall.

Thanks again for resurrecting the TX81Z, so to speak! :tu: :D :)
