2CAudio has announced the release of version 1.5 of Aether, the "ultimate quality, self-modulating algorithmic reverb". 2CAudio says "Aether 1.5 represents a very significant update and offers a huge number of industry-first advances in terms of audio quality and functionality. It is designed to compete directly with the best-of-the-best of both hardware and software reverbs. Most reasonable companies would call this a 2.0 version."
2CAudio has also announced the release of two new expansions for Aether: the Aether Creativity Expansion and Aether Integrity Expansion.

Aether 1.5 also offers a completely new GUI, which retains the same layout as the previous version, but focuses on improvements to readability, usability, and communication of relevant parameter information such as measurement units.

Aether Integrity Expansion
The Aether Integrity Expansion is a collection of 160 new professionally designed presets for Aether 1.5. It focuses on ultra-realistic halls, chambers, rooms, churches, and small instrument spaces. It is designed to show just how good Aether 1.5 can be for traditional reverb applications in classical, folk, jazz, pop, rock, and acoustic music production. The Aether Integrity Expansion is designed to go head to head with the biggest names in hardware reverbs, and decisively prove Aether is just as capable of excelling at subtleties, as it is in pushing things to the extreme.
Aether Creativity Expansion
The Aether Creativity Expansion is a collection of 150 new professionally designed presets for Aether 1.5. It is designed to further Aether's lead in the FX-reverb category by utilizing Aether's new 1.5 features to achieve cutting edge spatial effects and environments. It focuses on thematic presets, huge spaces, and FX that are designed to elicit an emotional response from artists and performers who use Aether as a creative tool and compose directly into it. All Aether Integrity Expansion presets are designed to be become a large part of the performance and transform it into something entirely otherworldly.
Pricing & Availability
Aether 1.5 is available for both 32-bit and 64-bit VST hosts on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. It is also available as a 32-bit plug-in for Mac OS X VST and Audio Units hosts running on OS X.4, OS X.5, and OS X.6. Aether 1.5 will also be available for the first time for the Digidesign RTAS platform. The RTAS version is currently in the final stages of development and will be available shortly.
Aether 1.5 has a MSRP of $249.95. The Aether 1.5 update is free to existing users.
The Aether Integrity Expansion and the Aether Creativity Expansion are priced at $24.95 separately or $39.95 for both.
