Like the vast majority of piano instruments, these sound OK...by themselves. I have numerous piano libraries, all of which I've bought on the basis that they sound great by themselves. I guess that's fine if the only use you ever have for a piano is as a solo instrument. But I mostly use piano in conjunction with other instruments, and therein lies the rub.

The demo tracks for these pianos by Digital Sound Factory have the same deficiency that most demo tracks for pianos do—namely, they do not include any tracks that show how the pianos sound with other instruments. For me, that's a FAIL! I'm through buying pianos that sound great on their own but sound lousy in a mix. In the absence of any demos that include the pianos with other instruments, unless they'll let me download the instruments and try them in a mix, I'm not interested.
