NAMM 2024oeksound announces Bloom: Adaptive Tone Shaper Plugin

oeksound has announced Bloom, their new adaptive tone shaper plugin.

Based in Helsinki, Finland, oeksound has become well known for their innovative plugins such as the popular Soothe2 and Spiff. Bloom extends their product line by offering an solution for dynamic and context-aware tonal balance correction. This plugin is designed to analyze the character of audio signals and apply corrections to achieve a more even and refined sound, allowing users to add warmth, brightness, or clarity to tracks.

Bloom stands out for its usability and natural-sounding adjustments, even with significant changes to the audio material. It features a main "amount" control for balancing sound in a context-aware manner, tuned by oeksound's engineers for optimal results. Additionally, Bloom offers four frequency balance sliders for detailed tone shaping, avoiding the absolute cuts or boosts typical of EQs, and includes a unique squash mode for frequency-dependent compression. Other notable features are its attack and release controls, mid/side functionality, and a low latency mode, making it a versatile tool for both mixing and creative sound design.

Soothe was in the forefront of a paradigm shift in what audio professionals expect from their tools, paving the way for more automated processes in audio production, and moving from technical process-centric products to more solution-oriented processors. We feel that Bloom is the logical next step in that direction, bringing adaptive processing to every channel in your project.

Olli Keskinen, the founder of oeksound Ltd.

Bloom marks oeksound's first studio plugin release in four years, following the success of Soothe (2016), Spiff (2018), and Soothe2 (2020). Like its predecessors, Bloom is built on efficient algorithms, tuned by ear, to offer quick and musical audio shaping. However, it shifts focus from problem-solving to color and tone shaping, suitable for both fixing audio issues and creative sculpting.

Bloom will be available later in the year in VST3, AU, and AAX formats and will be showcased at NAMM 2024.
