Stagecraft Software has released Beat ReBuilder, a Beat-replacer plugin. Here's what they say:

One of the biggest obstacles in beat-making is friction; sometimes you want to remix that awesome loop you just heard, but between finding the right samples, lining them up correctly, and balancing the audio, it can be laborious. Or when you're making your own beats, it's easy to find yourself with no clear direction, spending lots of time with nothing to show for it.

Using audio fingerprinting, Beat ReBuilder is a plugin which quickly deciphers the various parts of a given beat — like the snare, high hat, or kick — and allows you to replace or augment those parts with your own samples and effects.

You can layer specific parts of the beat with your own sounds, add effects, and quickly transition between the wet and dry mix with the crossfader. Or, you can completely substitute all the sounds, maintaining the essence of the beat but using your own samples. Experimenting with a variety of ideas can serve as fresh inspiration for your next drum loop.
