KVR Developer Challenge 2023XiiixxiQ updates Roundels to v1.0.2 - Apple Silicon, VST3 & LV2

XiiixxiQ has updated Roundels, a KVR Developer Challenge entry, to v1.0.2.

Changes:

  • New Universal Binary available for Intel and Apple Silicon.
  • Optimised AU format.
  • New VST3 format.
  • New LV2 Format.
  • VST3 tested in REAPER v6.81.

There is also a new video available on YouTube showcasing the use of combining the randomisation feature with a limited Master Loop setting to produce bass lines.

Other videos available were made with a development version of Roundels which show clearly how the now various editors work together as, at that time, all the functions were available on one single page.

I have no idea how this thing works or what I'm doing but I can tell it's going to be a lot of fun and useful! Anyone who struggled getting the first version to load up in their daw, I'd recommend giving it another shot. I had trouble too but now with VST3 in Bitwig, seems to be working well. I've gotten some funky results out of the randomizer (it's way way deeper than it may first appear). Stoked about playing with it some more! Hopefully the Mac security stuff can be worked out so more can try it - can't another dev help? I think there's a better way, I still can't get it to pick up in Ableton despite being familiar with these hurdles on the user end of things. This deserves more visibility.

Thank you for giving it another go :-).

I'd be very open to another developer getting it sorted for a wider release (maybe Windows and Linux included) as this is really not in my skill-set .. although I am still trying to get different formats out there. Perhaps my original idea about Open Source-ing it is the best way forwards.

Keep playing with it - mainly using the Sequencer settings and the Rhythm generators - what is happening and how it does it will just suddenly click ...

Best Regards, D.

Hi to all,

this tool looks interesting.. but i am "limited" to PC platform;).

Simple question: There is always the speech about a VST3 version..

Please where can i find it? The download link aims exclusivly only to a .dmg file..

Thanks you all.

A.

Hi,

Macs run their own version of the VST3 format in addition to AU. This can't be run on Windows unfortunately.

Ah thank you i was not aware about this.. was naive thinking VST3 is a global standard.

For a moment i was guessing Metaplugin may make the bridge to your work..

But if i try to extract your .dmg with say 7zip only some textfiles comes out.. no nor VST:(.

Ok so then i can erase your files:/ But i read somewhere above your intention firstly was to make a Logic - thing.

How ever thank you for your work and stay inspired.
