XiiixxiQ

This software has been developed primarily to help me create the music I want to create using a variety of processes that were either unavailable on any other sequencer, or very difficult to achieve without chaining a large numbers of disparate MIDI processing elements together.

XiiixxiQ is an experimental, deep-dive into the world of Euclidean rhythms and non-linear step-sequencing. It includes, alongside the Sequence-Morphing, which can also be found in Roundels, new features such as Subset-Sequencing and Pattern-Matching.

Roundels is experimental software, designed specifically for the KVR Developer Challenge 2023, that makes use of four identical Euclidean generators whose output is summed before being sent to drive an integrated step-sequencer which enables live, sequence-morphing between user-defined points.

The software has been designed on a Mac and runs as a MidiFX plugin in Logic.

XiiixxiQ will run in Blue Cat's Patchwork by Blue Cat Audio as both an MFX plugin and in Standalone mode. You may have to engage the { Mono } option in the Loop Legato dropdown to override a timing issue with sending note-off events which would otherwise causes note-ons to be too short lived to trigger a sound.
